While traveling back from a mission in Hawaii, nineteen-year-old Joseph F. Smith had a run in with a group of men intent on hurting any member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that they came across. Video – Parallels Between the Golden Calf and the Fall – Exodus 32 features the account of Aaron and the Israelites making and worshipping a golden calf while Moses was on the mountaintop. While it may not be immediately obvious, this story has a lot of parallels with the Fall of Adam and Eve. It illustrates in a really poignant way how the Israelite tabernacle, and the future temple, would bring about a reversal of the Fall and bring Israel into the presence of God.
