Links to free resources for children, youth, and adults to enhance the Come, Follow Me reading of Doctrine and Covenants 45. All links are to church websites or websites approved for further gospel study. Chose one thing a day to do with your children or chose a couple to do for family home evening.

Saints, Volume 1 – Holy Places – Narrative history of events surrounding the revelations

Video – Be Not Troubled – (D&C 45:16-39) The Savior’s parable of the fig tree teaches that we need not be frightened or troubled by the calamities that will come in the last days. (5:13 minutes)

Video – They That are Wise – (D&C 45:56-57) This video depicts the parable of the ten virgins, through which the Savior helps the disciples understand why and how to prepare for His Second Coming. (8:43 minutes)

Video – The Mediator – (D&C 45:3-5) A portrayal of the analogy Elder Boyd K. Packer used in his April 1977 general conference address. A young man who fails to pay a debt is saved from the grasp of justice through the mediation of a friend (10:44 minutes)

Children

Activity – I Can “Stand in Holy Places” – Coloring page

Activity – With your family, list some things that help you stand in holy places, like being kind or praying. How do those things prepare us for Jesus Christ’s coming? Stick the list somewhere you’ll see it often. – From Scripture Time Fun in the Friend

Activity – Read Doctrine and Covenants 45:32 and help your little ones say, “I can stand in holy places.” Play a game to see who can stand up first and say one good thing they did that day. – From Scripture Time Fun for Little Ones from the Friend.

Activity – I Will Remember Jesus Christ – Activity comparing the Savior’s Second Coming to 10 women and their lamps.

Activity – Jesus Christ Will Come Again – Scripture Figures

Activity – I Believe Jesus Will Come Again – Includes an explanation of the parable of the ten virgins and a coloring activity about preparing for the Second Coming.

Audio – The Second Coming of Jesus Christ – A Primary teacher and children learn about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith receives revelation that there will be wars and disasters before the Savior comes. Joseph also learns that the gospel must be restored before that day.
