Video – One in Christ – Ulisses Soares spoke of two large rivers that unite to become the mighty, majestic Amazon River. He reflects on the confluence of these two great rivers, teaching the listener that inasmuch as the rivers are of two such completely different compositions, miles pass before the two completely unite to become the powerful Amazon River. This division in the waters can even be seen from satellites high above the earth’s atmosphere. He compares this “uniting” process to how peoples of different cultures, religions, and ideologies can unite within the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (4:48 minutes)

Video – We Don’t Need to Be the Same to Be One – In the beginning God made Heaven and Earth, light and dark, man and woman. He made everything different. No two fingerprints are alike. No two people are the same. We look different. We sound different. We act different. We believe different. But, we can be different and still be together. We can be kind. We can be patient. We can not judge. We can forgive over and over again because we don’t have to be the same to be one. We are all God’s children. (1:00 minute)

Youth and Adults

Video – Comfort in the Cross – Scripture Central (6:54 minutes)

Video – Evidence for Enoch in the Pseudepigrapha – Extra-biblical, ancient writings on the prophet Enoch have striking parallels with what Latter-day Saints find in the Book of Moses. Studying these parallels can provide a compelling reason to believe that Joseph Smith’s revelations were reproducing something authentically ancient. Most importantly, the Book of Moses restores “plain and precious” truths about the ancient prophet Enoch. Enoch was a mighty prophet who walked before God with perfect righteousness. Studying about his life in the Book of Moses and other ancient texts with the spirit of discernment (D&C 91:1–6) can bring readers closer to this ancient prophet, and unlock insights into the everlasting gospel that he preached. Scripture Central (5:45 minutes)

We can build Zion in our day. Enoch’s efforts are a pattern for building Zion in our own lives. Moses 7: 16-21, 27, 53, 62-69

Article – One in Christ – It is only in and through our individual loyalty to and love of Jesus Christ that we can hope to be one.

Article – Hearts Knit in Righteousness and Unity – At this 200-year hinge point in our Church history, let us commit ourselves to live righteously and be united as never before.

Article – A Strange Thing in the Land: The Return of the Book of Enoch, Part 12 – Zion is not limited just to Enoch’s Zion—it is the glorious ideal. Brigham Young taught that it is “the Holy Order that God has established for his people in all ages of the world.”

Article – Building Zion – A General Conference talk by Bruce R. McConkie.

Video – Enoch and the People of Zion – Scripture Central (3:46 minutes)

Video – What Can We Learn from Enoch? – Scripture Central (6:27 minutes)

Video – How Is the Unity of Zion Society Achieved? – Many today living in the midst of divisiveness and violence, long for the peace and prosperity of a Zion society. The description in 4 Nephi can help people today outline how such a society can be achieved, and illustrates that sharply divided societies can become Zion-like through application of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Scripture Central (2:13 minutes)

God weeps—and rejoices—for His children. Moses 7:28-69

Article – The Grandeur of God – In word and in deed Jesus was trying to reveal and make personal to us the true nature of His Father, our Father in Heaven.

Article – Zion, Zion, Zion – BYU Religious Studies Center

Article – Faith and Evidence in the Witness of Ancient Texts for the Book of Moses Enoch Story – My hope is that in reading and applying his message and the lessons of the story of the city of Enoch we will remember that the glorious day of the return of heavenly Zion to the earth depends on the degree to which each of us individually “embrace the truth and look upward” (JST Genesis 9:22). To help families be more intentional with their Ea To help families be more intentional with their Easter celebration I thought I’d share here a FREE 30 day Easter Countdown that I created in 2012 and shared on my other blog back then. This 30 day countdown to Easter utilizes The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles. Each day focuses on a portion of that document – either a sentence or a paragraph or a name of Christ.

There are scriptures to read, discussion questions, and even additional activity ideas for each day!

Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Mont Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Montserrat. My husband, Joseph, and I have eleven children. We’ve raised them on lots of love and land on a farm in Northern Nevada. Four of our daughters are married and another will be getting married this Saturday! (Last photo) Our 10th grandchild was born December 30th! We currently have a son serving as a missionary in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We still have four children at home.

One highlight of 2025 was getting to help with the open house for the Elko Nevada Temple. It was a memorable experience.

In our many years of parenting we have learned that teaching the gospel can be really simple. You don’t need a lot of fluff. The church has produced a TON of resources for parents over the years. Each week I link to those free resources on church websites to help you teach your children. I try to find a wide variety of activities, articles, music, artwork, and videos. While I often forget to post here on Instagram, I always post on the blog. You can find the link in the profile.
