EVERYONE

Video – Follow the Prophet – Carol F. McConkie, First Counselor in the Young Women’s Presidency, describes why God calls prophets. A group of youth discover the importance of listening to the right voices when charting their course. (4:16)

Video – Redeemer of Israel – To help family members better understand the help God gives us in adversity, you could sing together or listen to and discuss this hymn.

Video – Follow the Prophet – An ASL version to learn the sign language of this Primary song.

CHILDREN

Activity – How to Draw King Benjamin – Learn how to draw King Benjamin teaching people from a tower. Gospel for Kids

Activity – Prophets and Apostles – Print out these drawings of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for your children to color.

Activity – Words Matter – This activity from the Friend can help your children learn about the influence their words have on others.

Activity – Follow the Prophet (word cards, prophet pictures) – A fun way to learn this Primary song with your family.

Activity/Article – Prophets – This article from the Friend provides an overview of prophets and what they do. Includes a matching activity with prophets from the Book of Mormon.

Activity/Article – Go and Do – In this Friend article, President Henry B. Eyring tells the story of a Relief Society president who made a difference in her community. It also includes an activity to help children see the results of their good choices.

Article – Blair Chooses the Right – This panel story from the Friend Junior can help little ones learn what it means to choose the right.

Story – King Benjamin Teaches His People – Illustrated story for young readers.

Video – Zeniff – The Lamanites allow Zeniff and his people to live in their land. The Lamanites agree to not attack, but they do not honor their promise. The Nephites pray for strength. They are able to defeat the Lamanites for two generations.

Video – Follow Prophets – They Speak for God – Around a table in the Smith family log home in Palmyra, New York, President Russell M. Nelson and Joy D. Jones, General Primary President, ask a panel of children why it’s important to have a prophet.

YOUTH

Article – Are You Listening? – This New Era article shares ways the words of the prophets strengthen and protect us.

Article – Count the Ripples – This New Era article tells about the influence one 14-year old boy had on hundreds of people and on future generations because of his choice to stay active in the Church when it was hard.

YOUTH & ADULTS

Article – Prophets, Seers, and Revelators – In this general conference address, Jeffrey R. Holland testifies of the blessing it is to have prophets, seers, and revelators to guide the Lord’s Church and the importance of sustaining them as such.

Article – Small Choices, Big Consequences – In this Ensign article, Elder Massimo De Feo of the Seventy recalls an experience in which he had to make a choice of whether to stand for his faith or not, and the resulting consequences of that choice.

Article – Turn to the Lord – In this General Conference talk, Donald L. Hallstrom shared how the faithfulness of his grandparents blessed future generations.

Article – Look Unto Him in Every Thought – Obviously we cannot completely control the events that come at us daily, but we can indeed control the worthwhileness of those events. We worship an omniscient God and know that “all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good, and to my name’s glory, saith the Lord.”

To help families be more intentional with their Ea To help families be more intentional with their Easter celebration I thought I’d share here a FREE 30 day Easter Countdown that I created in 2012 and shared on my other blog back then. This 30 day countdown to Easter utilizes The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles. Each day focuses on a portion of that document – either a sentence or a paragraph or a name of Christ.

There are scriptures to read, discussion questions, and even additional activity ideas for each day!

Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Mont Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Montserrat. My husband, Joseph, and I have eleven children. We’ve raised them on lots of love and land on a farm in Northern Nevada. Four of our daughters are married and another will be getting married this Saturday! (Last photo) Our 10th grandchild was born December 30th! We currently have a son serving as a missionary in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We still have four children at home.

One highlight of 2025 was getting to help with the open house for the Elko Nevada Temple. It was a memorable experience.

In our many years of parenting we have learned that teaching the gospel can be really simple. You don’t need a lot of fluff. The church has produced a TON of resources for parents over the years. Each week I link to those free resources on church websites to help you teach your children. I try to find a wide variety of activities, articles, music, artwork, and videos. While I often forget to post here on Instagram, I always post on the blog. You can find the link in the profile.
