Activity – Second Coming Surprise – Use this quick activity to discuss what your family can add to their daily routine to prepare for Christ’s return.

Video – The Great Apostasy – Wilford Woodruff’s search for the true Church explains the Apostasy and need for the Restoration. It emphasizes four essential elements of the true Church that were lost because of the Great Apostasy.

Activity/Article – Bright Examples – After reading the article by Elder Larry S. Kacher of the Seventy, use the accompanying activity to decode an important message about sharing the gospel.

Story – The Blessings of Sacrifice – Elder Adhemar Damiani of the Seventy teaches that if we can accomplish great things when we set goals and work hard.

Youth

How Can I Stay Strong in My Commitment to Jesus Christ?

Article – Do Not Leave the Savior – In this young adult Ensign article, Elder Kevin W. Pearson of the Seventy shares an experience he had with a friend who left the Church and provides six ways to survive spiritually as we prepare for Christ’s return.

Article – Unwavering Commitment to Jesus Christ – God invites us to cast our old ways completely out of reach and begin a new life in Christ.

Video – The Apostasy and the Restoration – What the Restoration Means for Me – Young men and women share how events surrounding the Restoration have a very real effect on their daily lives.

Youth & Adults

Teaching Resources – Come Follow Up: 1 and 2 Thessalonians – Artwork, quotes, and videos to aid teachers in leading the discussion for this lesson.

Disciples of Christ serve others with sincerity and love.

Article – Great Love for Our Father’s Children – Love is the primary attribute and motive for the spiritual purposes we were charged to undertake by our beloved prophet.

Article – Teach Us Tolerance and Love – Our highest priorities in life are to love God and to love our neighbors. That broadly includes neighbors in our own family, our community, our nation, and our world. Obedience to the second commandment facilitates obedience to the first commandment.

“Increase and abound in love.” As we follow Jesus Christ, He can make us holy.

Article – The Beauty of Holiness – Our Father in Heaven has provided for us all that is required so that we can become holy as He is holy.

Article – Giving Holiness to the Lord – Sacrifice is less about “giving up” and more about “giving to” the Lord.

An apostasy, or falling away from truth, was prophesied to precede the Second Coming.
