Children

Story – The Mooncake Festival – Vincent, a boy from Malaysia, gets hurt while his family is at a festival and prays for Jesus to comfort him.

Article – Faith Lights the Way – As a young man, President Gordon B. Hinckley (1910–2008) rode trains that hurtled through narrow mountain passes at night. It helped him understand how the light of faith can guide us through dark times of discouragement.

Article – What Happens When Life Gets One Degree Colder? – A plan in which supposedly everything would go right so nobody would be lost was already proposed and rejected. The plan of salvation, on the other hand, allows for opposition in all things: sadness and sweetness, wrongdoing and repentance, trial and testimony.

Article – Face Life’s Tests with the Savior’s Help – In this New Era article, Henry B. Eyring discusses the purpose of life’s tests and trials and teaches that the power of deliverance is available to all through the Savior’s Atonement.

Article – Allowing Your Faith in Jesus Christ to Guide Your Life – Faith in Christ can guide our lives as we cultivate a relationship with God, rely on Him, remain hopeful, and spiritually prepare for trials.

Forgiveness is a blessing I can both give and receive.

Article – The Key to Forgiving Myself – This New Era article explains that the Savior’s Atonement not only allows us to receive forgiveness but also allows us the peace we need to forgive ourselves.

Article – The Light of Forgiving – Steven M. Sandberg teaches that forgiveness is a divine gift from a loving God. We can each experience the light of forgiving in our own lives.

Article – On Measuring Flour and Forgiveness – Do we miserly measure out the flour of forgiveness, or give it freely? We must forgive in order to be forgiven—knowing that God will take care of justice.

Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can be reconciled to God.

Article – Becoming a “New Creature” in Christ – One horse’s miraculous transformation is a perfect metaphor for how the Savior can see our full potential and make us our best selves.

Article – Deliverance – We are part of the greatest deliverance story ever told. Our Savior is the protagonist, and His promises can fill us with hope.

Article – Come unto Christ – If we come unto Christ, His Atonement will make us clean and spotless. We can go home to live with God again, our deepest desire.

To help families be more intentional with their Ea To help families be more intentional with their Easter celebration I thought I’d share here a FREE 30 day Easter Countdown that I created in 2012 and shared on my other blog back then. This 30 day countdown to Easter utilizes The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles. Each day focuses on a portion of that document – either a sentence or a paragraph or a name of Christ.

There are scriptures to read, discussion questions, and even additional activity ideas for each day!

Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Mont Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Montserrat. My husband, Joseph, and I have eleven children. We’ve raised them on lots of love and land on a farm in Northern Nevada. Four of our daughters are married and another will be getting married this Saturday! (Last photo) Our 10th grandchild was born December 30th! We currently have a son serving as a missionary in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We still have four children at home.

One highlight of 2025 was getting to help with the open house for the Elko Nevada Temple. It was a memorable experience.

In our many years of parenting we have learned that teaching the gospel can be really simple. You don’t need a lot of fluff. The church has produced a TON of resources for parents over the years. Each week I link to those free resources on church websites to help you teach your children. I try to find a wide variety of activities, articles, music, artwork, and videos. While I often forget to post here on Instagram, I always post on the blog. You can find the link in the profile.
