“God Is Not the Author of Confusion, but of Peace” – 1 Corinthians 14 – 16

Video – Glad Tidings: The History of Baptisms for the Dead – Joseph Smith’s struggle with his brother Alvin’s death led eventually to the introduction of baptisms for the dead. This new ordinance was embraced by saints in Nauvoo who did the first genealogical and family history research in Church history.

Children

Article – The Grave Has No Victory – Through the redeeming Atonement and glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ, broken hearts can be healed, anguish can become peace, and distress can become hope.

Article – Our Sorrow Shall Be Turned to Joy – The glorious message of Easter morning is central to all Christianity. Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, and because of this, we too will live again after we die. This knowledge gives meaning and purpose to our lives.

Video – Finding Hope Through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ – Jesus Christ is central to our Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation. Through our Savior’s atonement and resurrection, He made it possible for us to live again with our loved ones for eternity.

To help families be more intentional with their Ea To help families be more intentional with their Easter celebration I thought I’d share here a FREE 30 day Easter Countdown that I created in 2012 and shared on my other blog back then. This 30 day countdown to Easter utilizes The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles. Each day focuses on a portion of that document – either a sentence or a paragraph or a name of Christ.

There are scriptures to read, discussion questions, and even additional activity ideas for each day!

Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Mont Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Montserrat. My husband, Joseph, and I have eleven children. We’ve raised them on lots of love and land on a farm in Northern Nevada. Four of our daughters are married and another will be getting married this Saturday! (Last photo) Our 10th grandchild was born December 30th! We currently have a son serving as a missionary in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We still have four children at home.

One highlight of 2025 was getting to help with the open house for the Elko Nevada Temple. It was a memorable experience.

In our many years of parenting we have learned that teaching the gospel can be really simple. You don’t need a lot of fluff. The church has produced a TON of resources for parents over the years. Each week I link to those free resources on church websites to help you teach your children. I try to find a wide variety of activities, articles, music, artwork, and videos. While I often forget to post here on Instagram, I always post on the blog. You can find the link in the profile.
