The Power of God Unto Salvation – Romans 1-6

Free resources from church websites to help you teach the doctrine and principles found in this week’s Come, Follow Me New Testament reading for Romans 1-6. Find helps for children, youth, and adults!

Everyone

Activity – Grace Carry – Do this activity to demonstrate how we can all be saved through Jesus Christ.

Video – Atonement – Not a One-Time Thing – A young man shares how with the help of his bishop, he is experiencing the blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. (3 minutes)

Video – The Mediator – A young man who fails to pay a debt is saved from the grasp of justice through the mediation of a friend. (10:44 minutes)

Children

This month’s Friend is a special issue about Baptism and Confirmation. There are many great stories and activities to do with your children that go along with this week’s Come, Follow Me reading!

I can show my faith in Jesus Christ by following Him.

Activity – “Following in Jesus’s Footsteps” – Identify ways you can follow Jesus, trace your footsteps and read scriptures.

Article – “Becoming Like Jesus Christ” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf teaches that as we follow Jesus Christ we become more like Him.

Story – Jesus Showed Us the Way – See the examples of Jesus that we can follow.

Being baptized is like becoming a new person.

Activity – When I am Baptized I Make a Covenant with God – coloring page

Activity – My Baptism Book – Create a baptism book by mounting eight pictures on heavy paper, punching holes and then tying them together with string.

Activity – Learning About Baptism– Learn about the steps of baptism by reading and coloring in the boxes on these pages.

Activity – Keeping Our Baptismal Covenant – A board game about the promises we make at baptism.

We all need Jesus Christ in order to be forgiven of our sins.

Activity – Article of Faith 3 – Color the picture using the number of each colored word relating to the third article of faith

Youth

How Can Jesus Christ Help Me Change?

Article – “Eight Myths about Repentance.” – This New Era article helps clear up some misunderstandings about repentance.

Article – “Ten Ways to Know You Are Converted.” This New Era article explores the signs of true conversion and how we can recognize them in ourselves.

Article – Paul’s Metaphors of Salvation in Their Ancient Contexts – In his Epistle to the Romans, the Apostle Paul used concepts familiar to the people of his time to help them understand Jesus Christ’s work of salvation.

Teaching Resources – Come Follow Up: Romans 1-6 – Artwork, quotes, and video clips to aid teachers in leading the discussion for this lesson.

Article – The Just Shall Live by Faith – Perhaps in this simple statement we understand the difference between a religion that is frail and ineffectual and one that has the power to transform lives.

Article – Five Reminders for Sharing the Gospel – These five ideas can help us share the gospel in normal and natural ways and invite others to come unto Christ.
