Children

Jesus suffered for me because He loves me. In Gethsemane, Jesus Christ took upon Himself my sin and pain.

Article – The Atonement – An explanation of the Atonement of Jesus Christ for children.

Audio – Jesus Suffers in the Garden of Gethsemane – A Primary teacher and children discuss the suffering of the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane. Although it was a very sad day and the Savior suffered so much pain, His sacrifice is the most important thing that has ever happened for us. Our Heavenly Father sent His Son to die for our sins because He loves us. As we follow the Savior’s example and keep the commandments, we will receive the blessings of the Savior’s sacrifice, so that we may return to live with our Heavenly Father again.

Activity/Article – Heavenly Father Listens – Elder Weatherford T. Clayton shares how he learned that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. Includes a finding activity.

Story – Heavenly Father Answers My Prayers – George tells of the times Heavenly Father has answered his prayers.

I can follow Jesus’s example by being obedient to Heavenly Father.

Activity – A Busy Day for Hands – How can you be obedient with your hands? A poem for young children.

Article – Courage to Live the Gospel – Elder Erich W. Kopischke of the Seventy teaches that if we obey the commandments, Heavenly Father will help us know what to do and say.

Story – Micah Obeys – Micah learns that when he does what his parents ask, he is happier.

Youth and Adults

Conversion is an ongoing process.

Article – Be Ye Converted – True conversion occurs as you continue to act upon the doctrines you know are true and keep the commandments, day after day, month after month.

Article – Conversion and Commitment – In order to receive a fulness of promised blessings in our lives, and to be fully effective in our callings, we must become converted. Would any of us truly do any less than our very best in keeping a covenant or commandment, fulfilling an assignment, or in following Christ if we were truly converted in our hearts?

We become more Christlike when we choose to submit our will to the Father’s.

Article – Sweet Power of Prayer – We should pray in accord with the will of our Heavenly Father. He wants to test us, to strengthen us, and to help us achieve our full potential.

Article – The Faith to Ask and Then to Act – Faith in Jesus Christ is the key to receiving revelations of truth.

Article – Do We Trust Him? Hard Is Good – Regardless of the issue, hard can be good for those who will move forward with faith and trust the Lord and His plan.

The Savior suffered for me in Gethsemane. Jesus Christ performed an infinite Atonement for us.

Article – The Purifying Power of Gethsemane – The atonement of Christ is the most basic and fundamental doctrine of the gospel, and it is the least understood of all our revealed truths.

Video – Strengthened By the Atonement of Jesus Christ – Because of His Atonement, the Savior has the power to succor—to help—every mortal pain and affliction.

We can be faithful to Jesus Christ despite our fears and weaknesses.

Article – Remember How Merciful the Lord Hath Been – There are clusters of memories embedded in each of your lives. And these can help us to “remember how merciful the Lord hath been.”

Article – Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives – The gospel of Jesus Christ is filled with His power, which is available to every earnestly seeking daughter or son of God.

Article – And Peter Went Out and Wept Bitterly – As I have read this account my heart goes out to Peter. So many of us are so much like him. We pledge our loyalty; we affirm our determination to be of good courage; we declare, sometimes even publicly, that come what may we will do the right thing, that we will stand for the right cause, that we will be true to ourselves and to others. Then the pressures begin to build.

The Savior’s “kingdom is not of this world.”

Article – The Covenant of Baptism: To Be in the Kingdom and of the Kingdom – Our baptism and confirmation is the gateway into His kingdom. When we enter, we covenant to be of His kingdom—forever!

To help families be more intentional with their Ea To help families be more intentional with their Easter celebration I thought I’d share here a FREE 30 day Easter Countdown that I created in 2012 and shared on my other blog back then. This 30 day countdown to Easter utilizes The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles. Each day focuses on a portion of that document – either a sentence or a paragraph or a name of Christ.

There are scriptures to read, discussion questions, and even additional activity ideas for each day!

Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Mont Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Montserrat. My husband, Joseph, and I have eleven children. We’ve raised them on lots of love and land on a farm in Northern Nevada. Four of our daughters are married and another will be getting married this Saturday! (Last photo) Our 10th grandchild was born December 30th! We currently have a son serving as a missionary in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We still have four children at home.

One highlight of 2025 was getting to help with the open house for the Elko Nevada Temple. It was a memorable experience.

In our many years of parenting we have learned that teaching the gospel can be really simple. You don’t need a lot of fluff. The church has produced a TON of resources for parents over the years. Each week I link to those free resources on church websites to help you teach your children. I try to find a wide variety of activities, articles, music, artwork, and videos. While I often forget to post here on Instagram, I always post on the blog. You can find the link in the profile.
