Youth and Adults

Teaching Resources – Come Follow Up: Matthew 8; Mark 2-4; Luke 7 – Artwork, quotes, and videos to aid in teaching this lesson.

The Savior can heal infirmities and sicknesses.

Article – How can the Savior help me as a victim of abuse? – The Savior can comfort and heal you. The Savior experienced our pain, afflictions, temptations, infirmities, and sickness of every kind (see Alma 7:11–12). He knows how to help, support, heal, and comfort you in your time of need. He can take away your pain and sorrow.

Article – He Heals the Heavy Laden – Healing blessings come in many ways, each suited to our individual needs, as known to Him who loves us best. Sometimes a “healing” cures our illness or lifts our burden. But sometimes we are “healed” by being given strength or understanding or patience to bear the burdens placed upon us.

Miracles occur according to God’s will and our faith in Jesus Christ.

Article – What Happens When Life Gets One Degree Colder? – However, not all miracles deliver. Sometimes, according to God’s purposes, miracles are seemingly withheld in order for His greater designs to develop. A BYU Devotional by Dallan R. Moody

Article – The Power of Spiritual Momentum – Do the spiritual work to seek miracles.

Article – Miracles – Miracles happen every day in the work of the Church and in the lives of its members.

Article – Miracles – God does have control of all of these elements. You and I can reach out, and if it’s His will, we can bring those elements under our control for His purposes.

Article – Has the Day of Miracles Ceased? – Our supreme focus should be on the spiritual miracles that are available to all of God’s children.

Jesus Christ came not to condemn sinners but to heal them. As we are forgiven of our sins, our love for the Savior deepens.

Article – Teaching, Preaching, Healing – I believe our teaching can lead to healing of the spiritual kind. I cannot believe that so much of what Matthew wrote could be focused on the context of the Savior’s ministry to distressed, troubled, distraught people if it were for no purpose. As with the Master, wouldn’t it be wonderful to measure the success of our teaching by the healing that takes place in the lives of others?

Article – Wilt Thou Be Made Whole? – Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, if we choose to repent and turn our hearts fully to the Savior, He will heal us spiritually.

Being a disciple of Jesus Christ means that I put Him first in my life.

Article – Wholehearted – We should be followers of Jesus who are joyful and wholehearted in our own personal journey of discipleship.

Article – Invite Christ to Author Your Story – Let your narrative be one of faith, following your Exemplar, the Savior Jesus Christ.

Article – Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary Miracles – I pray that through my testimony the following principles may assist you in experiencing ways in which the Lord can make a miracle in your life and of your life as you move toward this future reunion.

Jesus Christ has power to bring peace in the midst of life’s storms.

Article – Facing the Storms of Life – When trials come, don’t forget there is someone who can bring you peace.

Adults

Article – The Parable of the Seed Growing Secretly – The choice of whether a person will ponder and accept the truths of the gospel belongs, as a matter of personal agency, with those we teach. If a person’s testimony is to grow until it bears mature fruit, or conversion, God must be the primary force behind our harvest.
