Gathered in this post are resources to help you teach your family not only the stories of the people in the Old Testament but also the doctrine and principles found in the study block for the Come, Follow Me reading of Ezekiel 1-3; 33-34; 36-37; 47. There are resources for children, youth, and adults. Every resource linked to is free! Most links are to church websites or websites approved for further gospel study. Choose on thing a day to do with your family or a couple to do for family home evening. Enjoy!

Everyone

Video – And the River Will Grow – Dale G. Renlund and his family discuss the prophet Ezekiel’s vision of the waters flowing from the house of the Lord. The river of water represents blessings, which flow from the temples to heal families and give them life. (3:43 minutes)

Video – Watchman on the Tower – (Ezekiel 33:1-7) The Lord calls prophets to be the “watchmen” on the tower. (4:17 minutes)

Primary Children

Prophets are like watchmen who warn us of danger. Ezekiel 3:17

Jesus Christ can help me change my heart. Ezekiel 2:3–4; 3:7; 36:26–27

Activity – What is Repentance? – Follow the lines find the steps of repentance.

Story – Spring Cleaning – When President Gordon B. Hinckley (1910–2008) was a boy, his family cleaned their house from top to bottom every spring. We, too, can know the joy of being clean through the Savior.

The scriptures teach me about Jesus Christ. Ezekiel 37:15-19

Activity – The Scriptures Teach Me About Jesus Christ – Write or draw what you have learned about Jesus Christ.

Article – The Book of Mormon Teaches of Jesus Christ – A brief summary of the Book Mormon with the emphasis on our Savior.

The Bible and the Book of Mormon help “gather” us to Jesus Christ. Ezekiel 37:19–23

Article – Why is it important to have both the Bible and the Book of Mormon? – Elder L. Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles testifies that both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are necessary for our salvation.

Story – What the Bible Taught Me – Elder Christoffel Golden of the Seventy shares how reading the Bible when he was young helped him to know the gospel was true when the missionaries taught his family.

Great blessings come from the temple. Temple blessings can heal our hearts and families. Ezekiel 47:1-12

Sunday School – Youth and Adults

Teaching Resources – Come Follow Up: Ezekiel – Artwork, scriptures, and quotes to aid teachers in presenting the lesson.

Video – The Watchmen on the Tower in Ezekiel – In Ezekiel 33, the Lord tells the parable of the watchman to teach Ezekiel about his role as the Lord’s prophet. This parable has two major lessons to teach us about the Lord’s living prophet today. First, the prophets has a better vantage point to spot spiritual danger. Second, prophets are morally obligated to declare God’s will, even when it is unpopular or offensive to do so. Book of Mormon Central (4:12 minutes)

“Thou shalt speak my words.” Ezekiel 1-3

Article – The Voice of Warning – While the duty to warn is felt especially keenly by prophets, it is a duty shared by others as well.

Article – Be a Missionary All Your Life – Quentin L. Cook teaches that the call to be a missionary is not just extended to some, nor only for a certain amount of time.

The Lord invites me to feed His sheep. Ezekiel 34

Article – The First Great Commandment – We have a life of devoted discipleship to give in demonstrating our love of the Lord.

Article – Being a More Christian Christian – This is the call of Christ to every Christian today: “Feed my lambs. … Feed my sheep.”

The Lord is gathering His people and giving them new life. Ezekiel 37

Article – Ezekiel’s Sticks and the Gathering of Israel – Ezekiel’s ancient prophecy of the two “sticks”—or books—does more than foresee the Bible and Book of Mormon. It marks the coming of the Book of Mormon as the beginning of the great latter-day gathering.

The temple brings spiritual healing. Ezekiel 47:1-12
