Gathered in this post are resources to help you teach your family not only the stories of the people in the Old Testament but also the doctrine and principles found in the study block for the Come, Follow Me reading of 1 Kings 17-19. There are resources for children, youth, and adults. Every resource linked to is free! Most links are to church websites or websites approved for further gospel study. Choose on thing a day to do with your family or a couple to do for family home evening. Enjoy!

Video – The Stories of Elijah – Doing the right thing doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy, and sometimes doing God’s will can make things even harder for you. Elijah had to overcome trial after trial in order to do God’s will. But Elijah never gave up and overcame several trials in pursuit of God’s will. Even though the famine was hard, it ultimately led to defeating the priests of Ba’al and leading Israel towards worshipping the true and living God. Book of Mormon Central (4:26 minutes)

The Lord often speaks in quiet, simple ways. 1 Kings 19:1-18

Article – Hear Him – Our Father knows that when we are surrounded by uncertainty and fear, what will help us the very most is to hear His Son.

Article – Hearing His Voice – In a world with so many competing voices, our Heavenly Father has made it possible for us to hear and follow His.

Article – The Voice is Still Small – Dramatic and miraculous answers to prayer may come, but they are the exceptions. Even at the highest levels of responsibility in this kingdom of God, which is being built up upon the earth, the voice is still small.
