Gathered in this post are resources to help you teach your family not only the stories of the people in the Old Testament but also the doctrine and principles found in the study block for the Come, Follow Me reading of Judges 2-4; 6-8; 13-16. There are resources for children, youth, and adults. Every resource linked to is free! Most links are to church websites or websites approved for further gospel study. Choose on thing a day to do with your family or a couple to do for family home evening. Enjoy!

Everyone

Video – The Covenant Path – On the covenant path we can find the essential blessings of forgiveness and cleansing from sin. (2:30 minutes)

Video – Anchor Away – Covenants strengthen us and keep our boats anchored and safe, whatever the storm! (54 seconds)

Primary Children

Lesson – Samson – Primary Old Testament Manual teach the children that by keeping our covenants, we will develop spiritual strength.

Jesus Christ is my Savior. Jesus Christ is my Deliverer. Judges 3:7-9, 12-15

Activity – Article of Faith 3 – Color the picture relating to the third article of faith.

Activity – Jesus Christ Is My Savior and Redeemer – A short message and puzzle showing what the Atonement does for each of us.

Activity – Jesus Christ Is My Savior – Look up scriptures listed on pieces of fruit, and place them on the tree. The fruit represents the blessings we receive because of the Atonement.

The Lord can use small things to do great work. Judges 6:11-16; 7:1-8

Activity – Women in the Old Testament – Match each name with the correct description.

Article – It’s Your Turn – Gary E. Stevenson relates preparation for the Olympics with preparation for life.

Article – Small Things Make a Big Difference – The small things we do can be powerful.

I can be faithful to the Lord even if others are not. Judges 4:1-15

Activity – Deborah Under the Palm Tree – Color, cut out, and put together the pieces of the palm tree and Deborah to help tell her story.

Poster – I Can Choose the Right – Includes statements of things you can do to choose the right and keep standards.

The Lord can work miracles when I trust in His ways. Judges 6-8

Article – The Sword of the Lord and Gideon – The story of this Old Testament judge can help us move forward with faith in our many seemingly overwhelming responsibilities.

Article – Christ is Risen: Faith in Him Will Move Mountains – Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe.

To help families be more intentional with their Ea To help families be more intentional with their Easter celebration I thought I’d share here a FREE 30 day Easter Countdown that I created in 2012 and shared on my other blog back then. This 30 day countdown to Easter utilizes The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles. Each day focuses on a portion of that document – either a sentence or a paragraph or a name of Christ.

There are scriptures to read, discussion questions, and even additional activity ideas for each day!

Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Mont Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Montserrat. My husband, Joseph, and I have eleven children. We’ve raised them on lots of love and land on a farm in Northern Nevada. Four of our daughters are married and another will be getting married this Saturday! (Last photo) Our 10th grandchild was born December 30th! We currently have a son serving as a missionary in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We still have four children at home.

One highlight of 2025 was getting to help with the open house for the Elko Nevada Temple. It was a memorable experience.

In our many years of parenting we have learned that teaching the gospel can be really simple. You don’t need a lot of fluff. The church has produced a TON of resources for parents over the years. Each week I link to those free resources on church websites to help you teach your children. I try to find a wide variety of activities, articles, music, artwork, and videos. While I often forget to post here on Instagram, I always post on the blog. You can find the link in the profile.
