Gathered in this post are resources to help you teach your family not only the stories of the people in the Old Testament but also the doctrine and principles found in the study block for the Come, Follow Me reading of Exodus 18-20. There are resources for children, youth, and adults. Every resource linked to is free! Most links are to church websites or websites approved for further gospel study. Choose on thing a day to do with your family or a couple to do for family home evening. Enjoy!

Everyone

Video – 10 Commandment Memorization Tips – Teach your kids the Ten Commandments, or learn them yourself, with this cool finger trick! The Ten Commandments apply just as much today as they did in the time of Moses.

Sunday School – Youth and Adults

Video – A God of Miracles! – When we read the Bible, sometimes these miraculous, epic events like the parting of the Red Sea, can feel distant from us. While I think God does work in the small and simple details of our lives, our God is also a God of miracles. He parted the Red Sea for the Israelites, and similarly performs miracles for us today. Video – The Lord Loves Effort – In the April 2020 General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sister Joy D. Jones of the General Primary Presidency of the Church gave a talk in which she shared a video where children were able to ask the Prophet of the Church, Russell M Nelson, any question. One of the children asked if it was hard to be a prophet to which President Nelson replied, “Of course!” followed by a story about Moses. He talked about how the Lord loves when we show our best effort. (1:38 minutes)
