Video – Ancient Meaning of Raising Hands – In Exodus 9 and 17, Moses performed a strange gesture by raising his hands above his head. While this gesture may seem strange to us, it’s a very ancient and sacred gesture for prayer and approaching the power of God. Today, most Latter-day Saints pray by folding their arms and bowing their heads in a show of reverence. But in ancient Israel, praying sometimes took the form of raising your hands towards heaven. When we pray to God with sacred gestures, we can signal to God our humility and worthiness before Him, we can praise Him, and we can rest assured that God is with us. Video – What are Hard Hearts in the Scriptures? – Over and over again in the Book of Mormon, we read of those who have hardened their hearts. We also find the same concept in the Bible, but even though we hear this expression a lot, it can be beneficial to dig a little deeper and find out what all of this hardening and softening of hearts is all about. To do this, I will consider several passages of scripture that help us get an idea of what hard or soft hearts are all about. From The Interpreter Foundation (6:41 minutes)

Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Mont Hello! Welcome to A Gospel Centered Home. I’m Montserrat. My husband, Joseph, and I have eleven children. We’ve raised them on lots of love and land on a farm in Northern Nevada. Four of our daughters are married and another will be getting married this Saturday! (Last photo) Our 10th grandchild was born December 30th! We currently have a son serving as a missionary in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We still have four children at home.

One highlight of 2025 was getting to help with the open house for the Elko Nevada Temple. It was a memorable experience.

In our many years of parenting we have learned that teaching the gospel can be really simple. You don’t need a lot of fluff. The church has produced a TON of resources for parents over the years. Each week I link to those free resources on church websites to help you teach your children. I try to find a wide variety of activities, articles, music, artwork, and videos. While I often forget to post here on Instagram, I always post on the blog. You can find the link in the profile.
