Choose one thing a day to do with your children or choose a couple to do for family home evening. All links are to church websites or websites approved for further gospel study.

Saints, Volume 1 – Holy Places – Narrative history of events surrounding the revelations

Saints, Volume 2 – Round Up Your Shoulders – Narrative history of events surrounding the revelations

Sing Along – The Holy Ghost – Gather the family to sing this Primary song.

Video – “Stand Ye in Holy Places—Bloom Where You’re Planted,” – Three hundred youth in Las Vegas come together to share their testimony of Jesus Christ.

Video – Stand in Holy Places and Be Not Moved – Elaine Dalton relates the story of Kristina, a young woman who joined the Church in Denmark, and encourages youth today to stand in holy places and be not moved.

Children

Activity – Our Homes Can Be Holy Places – Color and draw

Activity – Color the Temple – Coloring page

Activity – Jesus said we should be a “light” unto others (Doctrine and Covenants 86:11). That means we should be good examples to everyone. Draw a candle on a piece of paper and color the flame on the top. Cut it out and attach it to your shirt or hang it around your neck with some string, like a necklace. With your family, talk about what you can do to be a good example. From Scripture Time Fun from the Friend.

Activity – For Doctrine and Covenants 85–87: Sing a hymn or Primary song very quietly. Practice concentrating on hearing and understanding the song. Help your little ones say, “I can listen for the Holy Ghost.” From Scripture Time Fun for Little Ones.

Activity – Build a Temple” – A paper temple you can construct plus other ideas for building your own model temple.

Activity – Find that Temple! – Match the stained-glass windows to the temple they are in.

Activity – Funstuff: Temples around the World – A temple word search.

Activity – A Holy Place – A dot-to-dot picture of a temple.

Activity – I Love to See the Temple – A booklet to color and cut out with the words of the song “I Love to See the Temple.”

Activity – Temples in Our Day – Solve a temple word puzzle and then draw a temple using the letter A.

Activity/Article – Jesus Helped in Many Ways – Read how Jesus helped others and write a list of ways you can serve too.

Activity/Article – Feeling the Holy Ghost – Benson learns about the Holy Ghost from his dad. Includes an activity to color pictures of things we can do to invite the Holy Ghost into our lives.

Article – Taye Visits the Temple – An illustrated story about a boy’s visit to the temple.

Article – The Temple and You” – Joy D. Jones of the Primary presidency encourages children to do family history work and prepare to enter the temple. 

Article – Blessings of the Temple” – Paul E. Koelliker testifies that children can feel the blessings of the temple.

Article – I’m not old enough to go to the temple. What can I learn about it?” – Russell M. Nelson teaches some things children can learn about the temple.

Audio – A Revelation About the Priesthood – A Primary teacher and children learn of a revelation about the priesthood and a revelation about war. Joseph Smith receives a revelation concerning the priesthood. All priesthood holders make a covenant with God to be faithful and to use the priesthood to serve others. The prophet also receives a revelation about the Civil War that would come 30 years later. There will be many wars before Christ comes again.

    These weekly study guides are just incredible! The materials referenced have opened up a world of insight for me as I study these tools. I have gained so much more confidence in my teaching abilities and can more fully convey the messages and teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ.
